Who am I?

Dr Liezl Byliefeldt is a well-being practitioner and professionally qualified executive coach specialising in leadership development, resilience, workplace harmony, organisational health and well-being to help individuals and teams discover their strengths and optimise the potential they already hold within.

Her positive psychology approach to coaching and training provides the foundation for a niche focus on developing resilient and flourishing leaders, mobilising teams and individuals towards excellence, enabling optimal functioning and enhancing workplace harmony.

With over 20 years of experience in various corporate, legal, and non-profit managerial roles, Liezl brings a deep understanding of the needs and dynamics of corporates, small and medium businesses, and non-profit organisations.

MA (cum laude) PhD (Positive Psychology) (North-West University)

What is coaching?

Coaching is best described as a partnership between coach and the coachee who work together for an agreed period of time in a thought-provoking and solution-focussed process with the aim of achieving goals and maximising potential in the client’s personal and/or professional life. This is done through coaching conversations, reflective listening, goal setting, and the use of evidence-based tools and frameworks to support exploration, discovery, self-awareness, removal of barriers, and ultimately action.

Who should attend a training session?

Anyone! Training is tailored to meet your personal, professional or organisational needs and ensure goals and objectives are met. I train individuals and groups at every level from junior to senior executives.

How long does a coach work with an individual?

The tenure of a coaching partnership varies depending on the individual’s or team’s needs and preferences. For certain types of focussed coaching, three to six months of coaching may work, followed up by “refresher” sessions as needed. In other instances, people may find it beneficial to work with a coach for a longer period as new issues surface that requires coaching.

Factors that may impact the tenure of a coaching journey include: the types of goals, the ways individuals or teams prefer to work, the frequency of coaching sessions and the financial resources available to support coaching.

What qualifies a coach to coach me?

A coach ought to be professionally qualified or accredited in order to act as such. Ask a coach how long they have spent learning, studying, researching and practising the art of coaching. How many training courses have they attended? Who are these courses accredited through? What previous experience does the coach have, what levels and in which industries? How do they feel about the work that they do? What has their previous work experience exposed them to?

Our sessions can take place virtually or we can meet face to face at a mutually agreed venue.
